Obituary
Shri Rohit Thakur (55 years old), banjo player, under the banner of Lok Darshan Chhattisgarhi Lok Kala Manch Bhilai, District Durg (Chhattisgarh), while returning from the cultural presentation in Jharkhand-Tata, due to ill health at night, was taken to District Hospital Bhilai for treatment. Was admitted to the fort. He died suddenly today, January 11, 2024, at 9:15 am.

The Department of Culture and Language, Govt. of Chhattisgarh is pleased to announce the call for entries for 12 prestigious awards – 11 State-level and 1 National award. Individuals and organizations are invited to submit their nominations in the prescribed format by 5th October 2024. 

All entries must be sent via registered post to: The Directorate of Culture and Language, Second Floor, Commercial Complex, Sector-27, Nava Raipur, Atal Nagar, Chhattisgarh – 492002.

Official Mourning Notice

Official Mourning from date 26-12-2024 to 01-01-2025

With reference to the letter no. F-3-1/2015/1/5 dated 26-12-2024 from the General
Administration Department, Secretariat, Mahanadi Bhavan, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, with deep
sorrow we inform you about the passing away of former Prime Minister of India, Hon'ble Dr.
Manmohan Singh, on 26-12-2024 in New Delhi.
In respect of late Dr. Manmohan Singh, official mourning has been directed from date 26-12-
2024 to 01-01-2025 and that the national flag will be flown at half-mast at all government
buildings and other places where it is regularly hoisted, during the period of official mourning.
No entertainment or cultural programs will be held at the government level in the state in the said
period.
Additionally, the department has decided to cancel all approved cultural programs from 27th
December 2024 to 01st January 2025.

Aakar - 2025"
Traditional Crafts and Arts Training Camp
(From May 15 to May 31, 2025)

The "Aakar - 2025" Traditional Arts and Craft training Camp, organized annually by the Department of Culture and Languages, Government of Chhattisgarh, will be held this year as well, with the objective of preserving, promoting, raising awareness, and generating interest in traditional crafts and arts.
The camp will take place from May 15 to May 31, 2025, in two shifts: Morning from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, and Evening from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum Campus, Civil Lines, Raipur.

Interested trainees will receive training from renowned and expert art gurus in several disciplines such as:
Fine Art, Drama, Sketching, Canvas Painting, Jute Craft, Mehndi Art, Godna (Tattoo) Art, Chhattisgarhi Jewelry and Tribal Wooden Art, Bharathari, Nacha and Folk Dance-Songs, Tribal Dance and Songs, Sand Art, Rice Jewelry and Dry Flower Art, Dhokra Craft, Musical Instrument Training and Making, Terracotta, and Chhattisgarhi Cuisine.

The registration fee shall be Rs. 200/-, which can be submitted at the Aakar Training Office 2025.
Post submission of fees the training ID card shall be provided. Special concessions will be given to differently-abled and orphaned children.
